System malfunction location

CAN system communication error (CAN Bus No.1)

Detection condition

•  Malfunction in CAN bus communication line.

Fail-safe

•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.^*1

•  Inhibits the regenerative braking control.

•  Inhibits the motor assist control.

If U0073:00 is stored before Mazda M Hybrid operates:

•  Power is supplied to the vehicle's electrical devices (12 V power supply) from the battery.

If U0073:00 is stored while or after Mazda M Hybrid operates:

•  With the vehicle under the following conditions, continue to supply power with 12 V of power.

―  Mazda M Hybrid battery: Contactor on

―  Integrated starter generator (ISG): Constant voltage power generation (12 V)

―  DC-DC converter (Mazda M Hybrid): Default mode

^*1: If U0073:00 is stored during engine stop by i-stop control, restart the engine using the starter.

•  CAN bus communication line malfunction

•  PCM malfunction

• Inspect according to the diagnostic procedure in ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC [MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM]. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].)
