Self test type
•  CMDTC self test
Sensor used
•  Mazda M Hybrid battery
Fail-safe function
•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.*1
•  Inhibits the regenerative braking control.
•  Inhibits the motor assist control.
•  Stops power generation by integrated starter generator (ISG).
•  Stops power supply by step-down circuit in DC-DC converter (Mazda M Hybrid).
•  Turns off contactor for Mazda M Hybrid battery and supply power to vehicle electrical devices (12 V power supply) from battery.
*1: If P1B02:00 is stored during engine stop by i-stop control, restart the engine using the starter.
Vehicle status when DTCs are output
•  Refer to the [Vehicle status when DTCs are output] of each DTC for the Mazda M Hybrid battery.
Possible cause
•  DTCs are stored in the Mazda M Hybrid battery.
Note
•  If the Mazda M Hybrid battery stores a DTC, the PCM stores the same DTC or similar.
•  If the PCM stores a DTC even though the Mazda M Hybrid battery does not store a DTC, clear the DTC as it was for a past malfunction, and then complete the repair.

System Wiring Diagram

•  Not applicable

Function Explanation (DTC Detection Outline)

•  The Mazda M Hybrid battery monitors whether the internal temperature sensor and CPU operate normally, determines a malfunction if they do not operate normally, and stores a DTC.
•  If an Mazda M Hybrid battery DTC is stored, the PCM stores the same DTC or similar.

Repeatability Verification Procedure

1.  Switch the ignition off.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off) and wait for 10 s or more.
