DRIVE BELT INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))]

ISG Drive Belt (With Mazda M Hybrid)

Note
•  The ISG drive belt deflection/tension inspection is not necessary with the adoption of the decoupling ring tensioner.
•  The ISG drive belt does not have to be replaced because fraying of the ISG drive belt does not affect the performance.

1.  Inspect the inner and outer sides of the belt for wear, damage, or cracks visually or by touching with a hand.

•  If any minor wear, damage, or crack is found, replace the ISG drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

2.  Verify that the decoupling ring tensioner indicator is in the normal range.

•  If it has exceeded the limit, replace the ISG drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

Generator Drive Belt (Without Mazda M Hybrid)

Note
•  The generator drive belt deflection/tension inspection is not necessary with the adoption of the drive belt auto tensioner.
•  The generator drive belt does not have to be replaced because fraying of the generator drive belt does not affect the performance.

1.  Visually inspect or feel that there is no wear, damage, or cracking on the inside and sides of the entire belt.

•  Even if there is a little wear, damage, or cracking, replace the generator drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

2.  Verify that the indicator part of the cast hexagon on the drive belt auto tensioner is within the normal range.

•  If it exceeds the limit, replace the generator drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)


Water Pump Drive Belt

Note
•  The water pump drive belt deflection/tension inspection is not necessary with the adoption of the stretch-type water pump drive belt.

1.  Visually inspect or feel that there is no wear, damage, or cracking on the inside and sides of the entire belt.

•  Even if there is a little wear, damage, or cracking, replace the water pump drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

2.  Start the engine to verify that abnormal noise does not occur.

•  If abnormal noise occurs, replace the water pump drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)
