OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) FOR CYLINDER DEACTIVATION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))]

Warning
•   A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before servicing.
Caution
•  When removing the OCV for cylinder deactivation, be careful not to allow the engine oil to contact the surrounding parts. Otherwise, it could cause a malfunction in the surrounding parts or damage to the surrounding parts.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

3.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

OCV For Cylinder Deactivation Installation Note

Caution
•  If the OCV for cylinder deactivation is dropped accidentally, replace with a new one. Otherwise, the OCV for cylinder deactivation may not operate normally.
•  Be aware of the following points, otherwise engine oil leakage could result.
―  Do not allow foreign matter to get caught when installing
―  Do not damage the O-ring of the OCV for cylinder deactivation

1.  Apply clean engine oil to the o-ring of the OCV for cylinder deactivation.

2.  Install the OCV for cylinder deactivation.


Bolt Installation Note

Caution
•  If the bolt is tightened with oil adhering, the bolt could be twisted and cut. Always degrease the bolt.
