Location of use: Water-cooled charge air cooler

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)
2. Remove the intake manifold and intake shutter valve, and the water-cooled charge air cooler as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)
3. Remove the water-cooled charge air cooler from the intake manifold.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Water-cooled Charge Air Cooler Installation Note.)

1. Apply engine oil to position shown in figure.

2. Temporarily tighten the bolts shown in the figure by hand.
