Warning

• Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel. Fuel can be easily ignited which could cause serious injury or death, and damage to equipment.

• Highly pressurized fuel may spray out if the fuel line is cut. Due to the following dangers occurring with a fuel spray, always complete the [Fuel Line Safety Procedure] to prevent the fuel from spraying.

― Fuel may cause irritation if it comes in contact with skin and eyes.

― If fuel ignites and causes a fire, it may lead to serious injury or death, and damage to property and facilities.

• A person charged with static electricity could cause a fire or explosion, resulting in death or serious injury. Before draining fuel, make sure to discharge static electricity by touching a vehicle.

Caution

• If there is foreign matter on the connecting area of the quick release connector, it might damage the connector or fuel pipe. To prevent this, disconnect the quick release connector and clean the connecting area before connecting it again.

1. Perform the [Fuel Line Safety Procedure] referring to the [BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION]. (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

2. Remove the fuel pump unit. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

3. Disassemble in the order shown in the figure.

4. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

6. Perform the fuel leakage inspection referring to [AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION]. (See AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

Caution

• When installing the check valve and the relief valve, verify the identification numbers and install them to the correct positions. Otherwise, the engine may stall.

1. Verify that the identification number is for the check valve.
