• The timing chain learning can be performed when all the following conditions are met. The implementation conditions for the timing chain learning can be met by warming up the engine completely.
Implementation conditions for fuel injector injection amount correction
― ECT: 57—95 °C {135—203 °F}
― IAT: 0—65 °C {32—149 °F}
― Fuel temperature: 20—80 °C {68—176 °F}
• The following conditions occur by grounding the test terminal.
― DTC P1905:00 is detected.
― [Vehicle system inspection] is displayed on the multi-information display.
• DTC P1905:00 is automatically erased by disconnecting the test terminal ground.
• DTC P1905:00 is erased and [Vehicle system inspection] displayed on the multi-information display is also erased at the same time.
1. Start the engine and warm up the engine completely.
2. Short the connection between body ground and test terminal using a jumper wire.

3. Repeatedly depress and release the brake pedal five times within 5 s.
Note
• If the timing chain learning is initiated, the glow indicator light illuminates.
4. Verify that the glow indicator light illuminates.
― If the glow indicator light does not illuminate, repeat the procedure from Step 1.
Note
• If the timing chain learning is completed correctly, the glow indicator light flashes five times.
5. Verify that the glow indicator light flashes five times.
― If flashing of the glow indicator light cannot be verified, repeat the procedure from Step 1.
6. Detach the jumper wire from the test terminal.
7. Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more.
