Detection condition	• The vehicle control module (VCM) receives an error signal from the steering angle sensor. • The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that a difference between the angle signal received from the steering angle sensor and the angle signal received from the Electric Power Steering (EPS) control module is 180° or more.

3	INSPECT ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) CONTROL MODULE FOR MALFUNCTION • Perform the DTC inspection for the Electric Power Steering (EPS) control module. (See DTC INSPECTION.) • Is a DTC displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) (E)].)
No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT STEERING ANGLE SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) • Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION.) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].) If the CAN communication is normal, replace the steering angle sensor, then go to the next step. (See CLOCK SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)
