DTC P0234

Turbocharger overboost condition

DETECTION CONDITION

• PCM monitors intake boost pressure using the boost sensor. If the difference between target intake boost pressure and actual intake boost pressure is above 30.0 kPa {225 mmHg, 8.9 inHg}, PCM determines that the VBC system is over boost condition.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Air suction at intake-air system (between MAF sensor and turbo charger)
• Boost sensor characteristic malfunction
• Guide blade actuator stuck
• VBC solenoid valve stuck open
• Turbocharger malfunction
• PCM malfunction
