EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)]

Note
•  If the EGR valve is replaced, always perform each adjustment procedure using the following steps.

Replace that EGR valve.

Turn the engine switch on.

Perform intake shutter valve/EGR valve data reset procedure.

Start the engine.
Verify that the MIL dose not illuminate.

Turn the engine switch off.

Turn the engine switch on (Engine off).

Perform KOEO self-test procedure.

Perform intake shutter valve/EGR valve initialization procedure.
Engine coolant temperature 60—95 °C {140—203 °F}.

Turn the engine switch off.

Wait for 20 s.

Start the engine.

Perform KOER self-test procedure.
Warm up until the exhaust gas temperature (EXHTEMP1, EXHTEMP2, EXHTEMP3 PID) is 100 °C {212 °F} or more.

Turn the engine switch off.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the engine cover.

3.  Disconnect the EGR valve connector

4.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


EGR Pipe Installation Note

1.  Temporarily tighten the EGR pipe bolts.

2.  Tighten the EGR pipe nuts.

Tightening torque
18.6—25.5 N·m {1.90—2.60 kgf·m, 13.8—18.8 ft·lbf}

3.  Tighten the EGR pipe bolts.

Tightening torque
18.6—25.5 N·m {1.90—2.60 kgf·m, 13.8—18.8 ft·lbf}
