ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L8, LF, L3]

Warning

• When the engine is hot, it can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.

1. Drain the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [L8, LF, L3, L3 Turbo].)

2. Remove the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L8, LF, L3, L3 Turbo].)

3. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.

4. Remove the ECT sensor.

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

10-14 N·m

{1.02-1.42 kgf·m, 7.38-10.32 ft·lbf}

6. Refill the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [L8, LF, L3, L3 Turbo].)
