DETECTION CONDITION

• Abnormal input is detected.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Open or short to ground circuit in harness between DSC HU/CM terminal and ABS wheel-speed sensor(s) terminal below
- DSC HU/CM terminal M-RF ABS wheel-speed sensor terminal A
- DSC HU/CM terminal I-RF ABS wheel-speed sensor terminal B
- DSC HU/CM terminal F-LF ABS wheel-speed sensor terminal A
- DSC HU/CM terminal J-LF ABS wheel-speed sensor terminal B
- DSC HU/CM terminal K-RR ABS wheel-speed sensor terminal A
- DSC HU/CM terminal H-RR ABS wheel-speed sensor terminal B
- DSC HU/CM terminal Q-LR ABS wheel-speed sensor terminal A
- DSC HU/CM terminal N-LR ABS wheel-speed sensor terminal B
• Malfunction of ABS wheel-speed sensor(s)

Diagnostic procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
INSPECT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Turn ignition key to OFF.
• Disconnect DSC HU/CM connector.
• Measure resistance between suspected sensor terminals of DSC HU/CM connector (harness side).
- RF ABS wheel-speed sensor: M-I
- LF ABS wheel-speed sensor: F-J
- RR ABS wheel-speed sensor: K-H
- LR ABS wheel-speed sensor: Q-N
• Is resistance within 1.3-1.7 kilohm?
Yes
Go to next step.
No
Go to Step 3.
2
INSPECT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Turn ignition key to OFF.
• Inspect continuity between suspected sensor terminal(s) of DSC HU/CM connector (harness side) and ground(s).
- RF ABS wheel-speed sensor (+): M
- RF ABS wheel-speed sensor (-): I
- LF ABS wheel-speed sensor (+): F
- LF ABS wheel-speed sensor (-): J
- RR ABS wheel-speed sensor (+): K
- RR ABS wheel-speed sensor (-): H
- LR ABS wheel-speed sensor (+): Q
- LR ABS wheel-speed sensor (-): N
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace harness for short to ground circuit between DSC HU/CM and ABS wheel-speed sensor(s), then go to Step 5.
No
Go to Step 5.
3
INSPECT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR
• Turn ignition key to OFF.
• Disconnect suspected sensor connector(s) and inspect resistance between sensor terminals (part side).
• Is resistance within 1.3-1.7 kilohm?
Yes
Go to next step.
No
Replace wheel-speed sensor, then go to Step 5.
4
INSPECT DSC HU/CM TO ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Inspect continuity between suspected sensor terminal(s) of DSC HU/CM connector (harness side) and ABS wheel-speed sensor connector. (vehicle harness side)
- RF ABS wheel-speed sensor (+): M-A
- RF ABS wheel-speed sensor (-): I-B
- LF ABS wheel-speed sensor (+): F-A
- LF ABS wheel-speed sensor (-): J-B
- RR ABS wheel-speed sensor (+): K-A
- RR ABS wheel-speed sensor (-): H-B
- LR ABS wheel-speed sensor (+): Q-A
- LR ABS wheel-speed sensor (-): N-B
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace poor connections of DSC HU/CM connector and/or ABS wheel-speed sensor connector(s), then go to next step.
No
Repair or replace harness for open circuits between DSC HU/CM and ABS wheel-speed sensor(s), then go to next step.
5
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear DTC from memory
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace DSC HU/CM, then go to next step.
No
Go to next step.
6
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCS ARE PRESENT
• Are any other DTCs output?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC Table.)
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
