DRIVE BELT INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0]

ISG drive Belt

Note

• The ISG drive belt deflection/tension inspection is not necessary with the adoption of the decoupling ring tensioner.

• The ISG drive belt does not have to be replaced because fraying of the ISG drive belt does not affect the performance.

1. Inspect the inner and outer sides of the belt for wear, damage, or cracks visually or by touching with a hand.

• If any minor wear, damage, or crack is found, replace the ISG drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

2. Verify that the decoupling ring tensioner indicator is in the normal range.

• If it has exceeded the limit, replace the ISG drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

Water Pump Drive Belt

Note

• The water pump drive belt deflection/tension inspection is not necessary with the adoption of the drive belt auto tensioner.

• The water pump drive belt does not have to be replaced because fraying of the water pump drive belt does not affect the performance.

1. Inspect the inner and outer sides of the belt for wear, damage, or cracks visually or by touching with a hand.

• If any minor wear, damage, or crack is found, replace the water pump drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

2. Verify that the drive belt auto tensioner indicator is in the normal range.

(1) View the scale from the position where projection 1 is visible from the area between projections 2.

(2) Verify which position of the scale projection 1 is visible in Step (1).
