 id0112hf822800

Warning
•  If the cooling system cap or the water-cooled charge air cooler reserve tank cap is removed when the engine is hot, steam and boiling water may be injected, causing severe burns or severe injury.
Note
•  Immediately after the electric thermostat heater is energized, the heater is in a heated state and the resistance does not stabilize. Wait for a sufficient time before measuring the resistance again.

Resistance Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Disconnect the electric thermostat heater connector. (See ELECTRIC THERMOSTAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

3.  Measure the resistance between electric thermostat heater terminals A and B.

Electric thermostat heater resistance
10.80—14.60 ohms [Normal temperature]
•  If not as specified, replace the electric thermostat. (See ELECTRIC THERMOSTAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
