SUPERCHARGER SPEED SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0]

 id0140hf495000

Caution
•  If foreign matter such as metal shaving adhere to the supercharger speed sensor, it can cause abnormal output from the sensor because of flux turbulence, which can negatively affect the engine control. Verify that there is no foreign matter on the CKP sensor when replacing.
•  If the wiring harnesses or waterproof connectors are damaged, water penetrating the connector will cause a sensor malfunction. To prevent this, be careful not to damage wiring harnesses or waterproof connectors.

Visual Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the supercharger speed sensor. (See SUPERCHARGER SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

3.  Verify that there are no metal shavings on the supercharger speed sensor.

•  If there is a malfunction, remove any metal shavings that are adhering.

Voltage Inspection

1.  Start the engine and increase the engine speed to 3,000 rpm or more.

2.  Measure the output voltage wave pattern between supercharger speed sensor terminals A and B using an oscilloscope.

•  If not as specified, replace the supercharger speed sensor. (See SUPERCHARGER SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
