EGR PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0]

Visual inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the EGR pressure sensor. (See EGR PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

3.  Visually inspect the EGR pressure sensor for the following malfunction:

•  Damage, cracks, soiling

―  If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the EGR pressure sensor. (See EGR PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

4.  Visually inspect the air hose for the following malfunction:

•  Air hose for improper routing, kinks or leakage

―  If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.

Voltage inspection

1.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

2.  Measure the voltage at the EGR pressure sensor terminal C.

•  If the voltage is within the specification, go to the next step.

•  If the voltage is not within the specification, replace the EGR pressure sensor. (See GPF PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

3.  Start the engine.

4.  Measure the voltage at the EGR pressure sensor terminal C when the accelerator pedal is depressed.

•  If the voltage does not increase, replace the EGR pressure sensor. (See EGR PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
