EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8]

Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor No.1 Removal/Installation

Warning
•  A hot engine and exhaust system can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the exhaust system.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

3.  Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.1 connector.

4.  Remove exhaust gas pressure sensor No.1 while securing the bracket of exhaust gas pressure sensor No.1 using a wrench.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


Operation After Replacing Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor No.2

1.  If the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 is replaced, perform the following procedure.

Start the engine.

Verify that the check engine light does not illuminate.

Perform the KOER self test procedure.


Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor No.2 Removal/Installation

Warning
•  A hot engine and exhaust system can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the exhaust system.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Lift up the vehicle.

3.  Remove the front splash shield (RH). (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Remove the nut.

6.  Remove the bolts.

7.  Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 connector.

8.  Disconnect the air hose and remove the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 and the bracket as a single unit. (See Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 installation note.)

9.  Remove the nut.

10.  Remove the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 from the bracket.

11.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

12.  Perform operation after replacing exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2.(See Operation After Replacing Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor No.2.)


Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 installation note

1.  Install the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 shown in the figure.
