ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8]

Engine oil level sensor

Location of use: Engine oil level sensor

Caution
•  If the engine oil level sensor is removed, it is necessary to replace it with a new one.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Lift up the vehicle.

3.  Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Drain the engine oil. (See ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

5.  Remove the seal plate. (See OIL PAN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

6.  Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector.

7.  While pressing the clip A tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip A in the direction of arrow (2) to remove the clip A from the bracket.

8.  While pressing the clip B tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip B in the direction of arrow (2) to remove the clip B from the bracket.

9.  Disconnect the short cord connector.

10.  Remove the short cord.

11.  Remove the nuts.

12.  Remove the engine oil level sensor.

13.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

14.  Refill with the specified type and amount of the engine oil. (See ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

15.  Start the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage.

•  If there is oil leakage, repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.

16.  Inspect the engine oil level. (See ENGINE OIL LEVEL INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)
