|
• The electronically controlled brake unit cannot receive the configuration data from the body control module (BCM) or the PCM.

• Malfunction in CAN communication line (CAN BUS No.2) between PCM and body control module (BCM)
• Malfunction in CAN communication line (CAN BUS No.1) between body control module (BCM) and electronically controlled brake unit
• PCM malfunction
• Body control module (BCM) malfunction
• Electronically controlled brake unit malfunction

INSPECT PCM FOR MALFUNCTION
• Perform the DTC inspection for PCM.

• Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)

|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION
• Perform the DTC inspection for body control module (BCM).
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

Repair completion verification 1
|
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
• Perform the DTC inspection for the electronically controlled brake unit.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes
|
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the electronically controlled brake unit, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED
• Perform the DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
