REAR DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR INSPECTION [(E)]

R.H.D

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the rear door latch and lock actuator. (See REAR DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to the rear door lock and actuator terminals as indicated in the table below and verify the operation condition.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the rear door latch and lock actuator. (See REAR DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the rear door latch and lock actuator. (See REAR DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
Note
•  When inspecting the latch side of the rear door latch switch, press in the latch lever using a flathead screwdriver and set it to the latched position.

5.  When the door lock-link switch cable is pulled or pressed in, verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the rear door latch and lock actuator. (See REAR DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)


L.H.D

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the rear door latch and lock actuator. (See REAR DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to the rear door lock and actuator terminals as indicated in the table below and verify the operation condition.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the rear door latch and lock actuator. (See REAR DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the rear door latch and lock actuator. (See REAR DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
Note
•  When inspecting the latch side of the rear door latch switch, press in the latch lever using a flathead screwdriver and set it to the latched position.

5.  When the door lock-link switch cable is pulled or pressed in, verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.
