Inspection |
Results |
Action |
---|---|---|---|
1
INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) AND BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION
• Switch the ignition OFF, and then switch it ON (engine off).
• Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM) and the body control module (BCM).
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
2
VERIFY SOPHISTICATED AIRBAG SENSOR (SAS) CONTROL MODULE AND BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REPLACEMENT RECORD
• Verify if the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module or body control module (BCM) has been replaced before performing this troubleshooting procedure.
• Has the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module or body control module (BCM) been replaced?
Yes
After implementing the required servicing when replacing a module again, perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to the next step.
3
INSPECT SOPHISTICATED AIRBAG SENSOR (SAS) CONTROL MODULE FOR MALFUNCTION
• Perform the DTC inspection for the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
4
PERFORM REQUIRED PROCEDURE AGAIN AFTER MODULE REPLACEMENT
• Perform the procedure required for the body control module (BCM) replacement again according to the [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION].
• Perform the yaw rate initial setting for the vehicle control module (VCM) using the M-MDS.
(See VCM INITIAL SETTING.)
• Switch the ignition OFF.
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Replace the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
• Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the body control module (BCM), then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs ARE DISPLAYED
• Perform the DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
