DTC B14F0:55 [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE]

id1502c5044600

Outline

System malfunction location

Body control module (BCM) configuration not performed

Detection condition
•  The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that the forward sensing camera (FSC) received a signal which indicates the body control module (BCM) configuration was not performed for 10 s.
Fail-safe
Possible cause
•  Malfunction in CAN communication line between body control module (BCM) and forward sensing camera (FSC)
•  Inappropriate forward sensing camera (FSC) replacement procedure
•  Configuration data of body control module (BCM) and forward sensing camera (FSC) is not matched
―  Body control module (BCM) configuration data write error
―  Configuration not completed after forward sensing camera (FSC) replacement
•  Forward sensing camera (FSC) malfunction
•  Body control module (BCM) malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step

Inspection

Results

Action

1
INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) AND BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM) and the body control module (BCM).
•  Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
2
INSPECT FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the forward sensing camera (FSC).
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
3
VERIFY REPLACEMENT RECORD OF FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC)
•  Before performing the troubleshooting diagnostic procedure this time, verify if the forward sensing camera (FSC) was replaced.
•  Was the forward sensing camera (FSC) replaced?
Yes
After re-implementing the required servicing when replacing the forward sensing camera (FSC) in accordance with forward sensing camera (FSC) removal/installation, perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to the next step.
4
VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION ERROR
•  Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
5
VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION-RELATED DTCs
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM).
•  Is a configuration related DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
6
RESET BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION DATA
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Replace the forward sensing camera (FSC) and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the body control module (BCM), then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
