DTC B14F0:78 [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE]

id1502c5044900

Outline

System malfunction location

Forward sensing camera (FSC) optical axis deviation (detected while driving)

Detection condition
•  The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that there is a large deviation of the optical axis while driving from what the forward sensing camera (FSC) learned in advance.
Fail-safe
Possible cause
•  Forward sensing camera (FSC) optical axis deviation
―  Poor installation of bracket related to the forward sensing camera (FSC)
•  Tire shape changed due tire wear
•  Forward sensing camera (FSC) malfunction
•  Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM))

Diagnostic Procedure

Step

Inspection

Results

Action

1
INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) AND BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM) and the body control module (BCM).
•  Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
2
INSPECT FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the forward sensing camera (FSC).
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
3
VERIFY INSTALLATION CONDITION OF FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC)
•  Verify that there is no looseness in the forward sensing camera (FSC) installation.
•  Is the forward sensing camera (FSC) installation normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Install the forward sensing camera (FSC) correctly and perform the repair completion verification.
4
PERFORM FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) AIMING
•  Perform the forward sensing camera (FSC) aiming.
•  Switch the ignition OFF, and then switch it ON (engine off or on).
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
5
PERFORM FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) AIMING AGAIN
•  Perform the forward sensing camera (FSC) aiming.
•  Switch the ignition OFF, and then switch it ON (engine off or on).
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Replace the forward sensing camera (FSC) and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the body control module (BCM), then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
