POWER STEERING PRESSURE (PSP) SWITCH INSPECTION [L8, LF, L3]
id0140a5803100
-
Note
-
• Perform the following inspection only when directed.
Continuity Inspection
1. Inspect the following if the power steering is inoperative (See POWER STEERING FLUID INSPECTION.):
-
• Power steering fluid level
-
• Power steering fluid leakage
-
• Power steering fluid pressure
2. Disconnect the PSP switch connector.
3. Start the engine.
4. Inspect for continuity between the PSP switch terminal and GND using an ohmmeter.
-
• If not as specified, replace the PSP switch.
-
• If the PSP switch is okay, but PSP PID value is out of specification, perform the "Circuit Open Inspection".
Specification
Circuit Open Inspection
1. Disconnect the PCM connector. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L8, LF, L3].)
2. Inspect the following harness for open or short. (Continuity check)
Open circuit
-
• If there is no continuity, the circuit is open. Repair or replace the harness.
-
- PSP switch terminal and PCM terminal 2T
Short circuit
-
• If there is continuity, the circuit is shorted. Repair or replace the harness.
-
- PSP switch terminal and body GND
