FUEL TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)]

Note

• Perform the following test only when directed.

Resistance Inspection

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the supply pump. (See SUPPLY PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)

3. Measure the resistance between the fuel temperature sensor terminals using an ohmmeter.

• If not as specified, repair the supply pump. (See SUPPLY PUMP INSPECTION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)

• If fuel temperature sensor is okay, perform the "Circuit Open/Short Inspection".

Circuit Open/Short Inspection

1. Disconnect the PCM connector. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)])

2. Inspect for open/short circuit in the following wiring harnesses.

• If there is open/short circuit, repair or replace wiring harness.

Open circuit

• Fuel temperature sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 50

• Fuel temperature sensor terminal B and PCM terminal 70

Short circuit

• Fuel temperature sensor terminal A and power supply

• Fuel temperature sensor terminal A and body ground

• Fuel temperature sensor terminal B and power supply
