Door ajar (RL/RR) circuit open

DETECTION CONDITION

Open circuit in wiring harness between BCM and door switch (Rear, LH)
Open circuit in wiring harness between BCM and door switch (Rear, RH)

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Open circuit in wiring harness between BCM terminal 1F and door switch (Rear, LH) terminal A
• Open circuit in wiring harness between BCM terminal 7D and door switch (Rear, RH) terminal A
• Door switch malfunction
• BCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

INSPECTION

ACTION

INSPECT DOOR SWITCH (LH) CONNECTOR
• Turn the ignition switch off.
• Disconnect the door switch (RR or RL) connector.
• Inspect the door switch (RR or RL) connector terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR
• Disconnect the BCM connector.
• Inspect the BCM connector terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT DOOR SWITCH (LH) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Inspect for continuity between BCM terminal (wiring harness-side) and door switch (LH) terminal (wiring harness-side).
- 1F-A (RL)
- 7D-A (RR)
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to Step 5.

INSPECT DOOR SWITCH (LH)
• Inspect the door switch (RR/RL).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the door switch (RR/RL), then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
5
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the BCM memory using the WDS or equivalent.
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the BCM.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
