COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))]

Warning

• A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before servicing.

Note

• The radiator shape differs depending on the period of manufacture and the servicing procedure differs.Therefore, verify the radiator shape in advance.

Radiator type A

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2. Remove the front under cover No.1 and the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)(See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

4. Remove the following parts as a single unit: (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

• Air hose

• Air cleaner cover

• Air cleaner element

• Air cleaner case

• Fresh-air duct

• Resonance chamber

5. Remove or disconnect the following parts;

• Bolt

• Clip

• Fastener

• Wiring harness clip

• Connector

6. Remove the cooling fan component.

7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1. Remove the cooling fan component from below the engine compartment.
