LOW FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0]

Voltage Inspection

Note

•  The low fuel pressure sensor/high fuel temperature sensor cannot be removed as a single unit. When replacing the low fuel pressure sensor/high fuel temperature sensor, replace it together with the high pressure fuel pump as a single unit.

1.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

2.  Measure the voltage at the low fuel pressure sensor/high fuel temperature sensor terminal C.

•  If the voltage is within the specification, go to the next step.

•  If the voltage is not within the specification, replace the high pressure fuel pump. (See HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

3.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

4.  Start the engine.

5.  Access the PID/DATA monitor item [LOW_FUEL_PRES_SEN] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)

6.  Measure the voltage at the low fuel pressure sensor/high fuel temperature sensor terminal C when the [LOW_FUEL_PRES_SEN] PID increases.

•  If the voltage does not increase, replace the high pressure fuel pump. (See HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
