System malfunction location

Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module (poor installation)

Detection condition
Note
•  The low-G sensor is built into the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module.
•  While driving, the DSC HU/CM detects that the longitudinal-G value does not change as a result of comparing it to the longitudinal-G calculated from the wheel speed.
Fail-safe
Refer to “DTC Table” and “Fail-safe Function Malfunction Contents Table”.(See DTC TABLE [DSC HU/CM (E)].)
Possible cause
•  Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module incorrect installation
•  Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module malfunction
―  Low-G sensor malfunction
•  DSC HU/CM malfunction

VERIFY IF SOPHISTICATED AIRBAG SENSOR (SAS) CONTROL MODULE IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY
•  Verify the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module installation condition.
•  Is the installation condition normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Correctly install the Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT SOPHISTICATED AIRBAG SENSOR (SAS) CONTROL MODULE FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Perform the DTC inspection for Sophisticated Airbag Sensor (SAS) control module.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Start the engine and drive the vehicle at a vehicle speed exceeding 70 km/h {43 mph}.
•  Gradually slow down and stop vehicle.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the DSC HU/CM.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
