Detection condition
|
• While the vehicle is stopped, the DSC HU/CM detects that the activate operation or release operation of the electric parking brake switch continues for 60 s or more.
|

VERIFY OPERATION CONDITION OF ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH BY CUSTOMER
• Verify if the customer did the following operation.
• Is the operation applicable to the customer?

Yes
|
System is normal. (Explain to the customer that it is not necessary to continuously pull up/press down the electric parking brake switch to operate/release the electric parking brake system.)
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

|
VISUALLY INSPECT ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH FOR MALFUNCTION
• Visually verify the electric parking brake switch for the following.
• Is the electric parking brake switch normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Interference with surrounding parts:
• Install the electric parking brake switch correctly.
Foreign matter has penetrated movable parts:
• Remove the foreign matter and perform the repair completion verification.

Repair completion verification 1
|
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
• Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Perform the following procedure 3 times or more.
• Perform the DTC inspection for the DSC HU/CM.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes
|
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

Repair completion verification 2

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
• Perform the DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are any DTCs displayed?
|
Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
|
