Outline

System malfunction location

DTC C0044:1C or C0044:54

Brake fluid pressure sensor

DTC C0044:28, C0044:49, C0044:56, C0044:64, C0044:84 or C0044:85

Brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side)

Detection condition
•  C0044:1C
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects that the supply voltage to the brake fluid pressure sensor is outside of the specification.
•  C0044:28
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects that the offset amount of the brake fluid pressure signal (master cylinder side) is outside of the specification.
•  C0044:49
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects any of the following conditions.
•  Brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side) supply voltage malfunction
•  Brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side) internal malfunction or poor functioning
•  C0044:54
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects that the brake fluid pressure sensor initialization was not implemented.
•  C0044:56
―  The electronically controlled brake unit and brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side) configuration information do not match.
•  C0044:64
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects a non-conformity in any of the following signals.
•  Brake fluid pressure signals of 2 systems received from brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side)
•  Brake fluid temperature signals of 2 systems received from brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side)
•  C0044:84
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects that the brake fluid pressure signal (master cylinder side) of 1 out of the 2 brake fluid pressure sensors is the specification or less.
•  C0044:85
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects that the brake fluid pressure signal (master cylinder side) of 1 out of the 2 brake fluid pressure sensors is the specification or more.
Fail-safe
Refer to “DTC Table” and “Fail-safe Function Malfunction Contents Table”. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT].)
Possible cause
•  The initialization procedure for the brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side) has not been performed.
•  Brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side) malfunction
•  Open or short circuit in the brake fluid pressure sensor (master cylinder side) circuit in electronically controlled brake unit

Diagnostic Procedure

Step

Inspection

Results

Action

1
VERIFY SENSOR INITIALIZATION PERFORMANCE CONDITION FOR DSC-RELATED PARTS
•  Has the sensor initialization for the DSC-related parts been performed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Perform the sensor initialization for the DSC-related parts and perform repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the electronically controlled brake unit.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the electronically controlled brake unit, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
