Detection condition
•  C0505:94
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects any of the following conditions.
•  While driving, rotation information from ABS wheel-speed sensor of left front wheel cannot be detected
•  While driving, rotation direction of ABS wheel-speed sensor on left front wheel does not correspond to specified direction
•  C050B:94
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects any of the following conditions.
•  While driving, rotation information from ABS wheel-speed sensor of right front wheel cannot be detected
•  While driving, rotation direction of ABS wheel-speed sensor on right front wheel does not correspond to specified direction
•  C0511:94
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects any of the following conditions.
•  While driving, rotation information from ABS wheel-speed sensor of left rear wheel cannot be detected
•  While driving, rotation direction of ABS wheel-speed sensor on left rear wheel does not correspond to specified direction
•  C0517:94
―  The electronically controlled brake unit detects any of the following conditions.
•  While driving, rotation information from ABS wheel-speed sensor of right rear wheel cannot be detected
•  While driving, rotation direction of ABS wheel-speed sensor on right rear wheel does not correspond to specified direction
Fail-safe
Refer to “DTC Table” and “Fail-safe Function Malfunction Contents Table”. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT].)

•  ABS wheel-speed sensor (RF) incorrect installation
•  ABS wheel-speed sensor (LR) incorrect installation
•  ABS wheel-speed sensor (RR) incorrect installation
•  ABS wheel-speed sensor (LF) malfunction
•  ABS wheel-speed sensor (RF) malfunction
•  ABS wheel-speed sensor (LR) malfunction
•  ABS wheel-speed sensor (RR) malfunction
•  Electronically controlled brake unit malfunction

•  Verify the ABS wheel-speed sensor (LF) installation condition.
•  Is the installation condition normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Correctly install the ABS wheel-speed sensor (LF) and perform the repair completion verification.

VERIFY IF ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR (RF) IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY
•  Verify the ABS wheel-speed sensor (RF) installation condition.
•  Is the installation condition normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Correctly install the ABS wheel-speed sensor (RF) and perform the repair completion verification.

VERIFY IF ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR (LR) IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY
•  Verify the ABS wheel-speed sensor (LR) installation condition.
•  Is the installation condition normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Correctly install the ABS wheel-speed sensor (LR) and perform the repair completion verification.

VERIFY IF ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR (RR) IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY
•  Verify the ABS wheel-speed sensor (RR) installation condition.
•  Is the installation condition normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Correctly install the ABS wheel-speed sensor (RR) and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR (LF) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Inspect the applicable part.
•  Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR (RF) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Inspect the applicable part.
•  Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR (LR) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR (RR) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Start the engine and drive the vehicle at 25 km/h {16 mph} or more.
•  Gradually slow down and stop vehicle.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the electronically controlled brake unit.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the electronically controlled brake unit, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
