VACUUM HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8]

L.H.D.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

3.  Remove the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

4.  Disconnect the vacuum hose from the clip.

5.  Pinch open the clamps using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose.

6.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Vacuum Hose Installation Note (L.H.D.).)

Vacuum Hose Installation Note (L.H.D.)

1.  Install the vacuum hoses as shown in the figure.

R.H.D.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Windshield wiper arm and blade (See WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Windshield wiper motor and link (See WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Side cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(5)  Cowl panel (See COWL PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

4.  Disconnect the vacuum hose from the clip.

5.  Pinch open the clamps using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hoses.

6.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Vacuum Hose Installation Note (R.H.D.).)

Vacuum Hose Installation Note (R.H.D.)

1.  Install the vacuum hoses as shown in the figure.
