System malfunction location

Error signal received from climate control unit

Detection condition

•  The dash-electrical supply unit receives the error signal from the climate control unit.

Fail-safe

•  The value of the error signal is fixed at the specified value.

Possible cause

•  DTCs are stored in the dash-electrical supply unit.

―  DTCs related to the climate control unit are stored.

•  Climate control unit malfunction

•  Dash-electrical supply unit malfunction

Detection condition	• The dash-electrical supply unit receives the error signal from the climate control unit.
Fail-safe	• The value of the error signal is fixed at the specified value.
Possible cause	• DTCs are stored in the dash-electrical supply unit. ― DTCs related to the climate control unit are stored. • Climate control unit malfunction • Dash-electrical supply unit malfunction

INSPECT DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT FOR MALFUNCTION

•  Perform the DTC inspection for the dash-electrical supply unit.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)

•  Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (E)].)

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY

•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.

•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)

•  Perform the DTC inspection for the dash-electrical supply unit.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)

•  Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes

Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

(See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].)

If the CAN communication is normal, replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

No

Go to repair completion verification 2.

Repair completion verification 1

VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED

•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.

•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)

•  Perform the DTC inspection for the dash-electrical supply unit.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)

•  Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes

Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

(See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].)

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.

•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the dash-electrical supply unit, then go to the next step.

Go to the next step.

Repair completion verification 2

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED

•  Perform the DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)

•  Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.

1		No	Go to the next step.

(See CLEARING DTC.) • Perform the DTC inspection for the dash-electrical supply unit. (See DTC INSPECTION.) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].) If the CAN communication is normal, replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER (E)].) 2		No	Go to repair completion verification 2.
