REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST [(E)]

1.  Inspect the refrigerant pressure. (See REFRIGERANT PRESSURE CHECK [(E)].)

2.  Place a dry-bulb thermometer in the center side of the driver’s side ventilator outlet.

3.  Start the engine.

4.  Prepare the vehicle as follows.

―  Vehicle is not exposed to solar radiation
―  Engine speed: 1,500 rpm
―  A/C switch: ON
―  Air intake port: REC
―  Airflow mode: VENT
―  Airflow temperature: MAX COLD
―  Airflow volume: MAX HI
―  Hood: Open
―  All the doors and the liftgate: Close
―  All the windows: Close
―  Active air shutter (with active air shutter): Open

5.  Wait for 8 min after the engine is started.

6.  Record the air conditioner output temperature and ambient temperature for 2 min.

7.  Verify that there is air conditioner output temperature readings within the shaded areas of the figure.
