PASSENGER AIR BAG DEACTIVATION (PAD) SWITCH INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]

Note
•  The SRS air bag system can be identified by whether or not the seat track position sensor is present.
―  Standard deployment control system: Without seat track position sensor
―  Two-step deployment control system: With seat track position sensor

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the glove compartment. (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the PAD switch. (See PASSENGER AIR BAG DEACTIVATION (PAD) SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

4.  Verify that the continuity between the PAD switch terminals is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the PAD switch. (See PASSENGER AIR BAG DEACTIVATION (PAD) SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)
