Mazda M Hybrid BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Caution

•  For handling the Mazda M Hybrid battery safely, refer to [Mazda M Hybrid SERVICE CAUTIONS]. (See Mazda M Hybrid SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

•  Be careful not to hold the following locations when removing/installing the Mazda M Hybrid battery. Otherwise, it could be damaged.

―  Terminal cover

―  Eptsealer

•  Clean the duct of the floor under cover (RH) when installing the Mazda M Hybrid battery. Otherwise, Mazda M Hybrid may not operate normally.

1.  Switch the ignition OFF.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

3.  Disconnect the ground plate. (See GROUND PLATE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

4.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Brace bar (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].) (See MIDDLE PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

(2)  Tunnel member (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].) (See MIDDLE PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

5.  Disconnect the connector.

6.  Remove in the order shown in the figure.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Bracket Installation Note

1.  Align the brackets with the positioning pins.

2.  Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

Short-cord Installation Note

1.  Install the short cord to bracket No.2 in the order shown in the figure.
