Detection condition	• The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that the VIN stored in the forwards sensing camera (FSC) does not match the VIN sent from the body control module (BCM) for 10 s.
Fail-safe	(See DTC TABLE [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (E)].)
Possible cause	• A forward sensing camera (FSC) with a VIN already stored was installed on a different vehicle. (Such as exchanging between vehicles) • Forward sensing camera (FSC) malfunction • Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction • Body control module (BCM) malfunction

3	INSPECT FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) FOR MALFUNCTION • Perform the DTC inspection for the forward sensing camera (FSC). (See DTC INSPECTION.) • Is a DTC displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) (E)].)
No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) DTCs • Switch the ignition OFF, and then switch it ON (engine off). • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) • Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION.) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Go to the next step.
No	Go to repair completion verification 2.
5	VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DTCs • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) • Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION.) • Is a DTC displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) (E)].)
No	Go to the next step.
6	INSPECT FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) • Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION.) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Go to the next step.
No	Go to repair completion verification 2.
7	RESET BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION DATA • Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration. (See CONFIGURATION.) • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) • Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION.) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].) If the CAN communication is normal, replace the forward sensing camera (FSC) and perform the repair completion verification. (See FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
