System malfunction location

Configuration data of body control module (BCM) not matched

Detection condition
•  The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that the configuration data of the 360°view monitor control module and the body control module (BCM) is not matched for 10 s.
Fail-safe
Possible cause
•  Malfunction in CAN communication line between body control module (BCM) and 360°view monitor control module
•  Inappropriate 360°view monitor control module replacement procedure
•  Configuration data of body control module (BCM) and 360°view monitor control module is not matched
―  Body control module (BCM) configuration data write error
―  Configuration not completed after 360°view monitor control module replacement
•  360°view monitor control module malfunction
•  Body control module (BCM) malfunction

INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) AND BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM) and the body control module (BCM).
•  Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT 360°VIEW MONITOR CONTROL MODULE FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the 360°view monitor control module.
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY REPLACEMENT RECORD OF 360°VIEW MONITOR CONTROL MODULE
•  Before performing the troubleshooting diagnostic procedure this time, verify if the 360°view monitor control module was replaced.
•  Was the 360°view monitor control module replaced?
Yes
After re-implementing the required servicing when replacing the 360°view monitor control module in accordance with 360°view monitor control module removal/installation, perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION ERROR
•  Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.

VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION-RELATED DTCs
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM).
•  Is a configuration related DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

RESET CONFIGURATION DATA FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Replace the 360°view monitor control module and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the body control module (BCM), then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.


With Parking Assist System

Detection condition
•  The vehicle control module (VCM) detects that the configuration data of the parking assist unit (optical) and the body control module (BCM) is not matched for 10 s.
Fail-safe
Possible cause
•  Malfunction in CAN communication line between body control module (BCM) and parking assist unit (optical)
•  Inappropriate parking assist unit (optical) replacement procedure
•  Configuration data of body control module (BCM) and parking assist unit (optical) is not matched
―  Body control module (BCM) configuration data write error
―  Configuration not completed after parking assist unit (optical) replacement
•  Parking assist unit (optical) malfunction
•  Body control module (BCM) malfunction

•  Perform the DTC inspection for the parking assist unit (optical).
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY REPLACEMENT RECORD OF PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)
•  Before performing the troubleshooting diagnostic procedure this time, verify if the parking assist unit (optical) was replaced.
•  Was the parking assist unit (optical) replaced?
Yes
After re-implementing the required servicing when replacing the parking assist unit (optical) in accordance with parking assist unit (optical) removal/installation, perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION ERROR
•  Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.

VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION-RELATED DTCs
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM).
•  Is a configuration related DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

•  Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Replace the parking assist unit (optical) and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM).
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the body control module (BCM), then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
