COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0]

Warning

•  A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before servicing.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Open the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER OPEN/CLOSE [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

3.  Remove the left wall. (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

4.  Set aside the water-cooled charged air cooler reserve tank. (See WATER-COOLED CHARGE AIR COOLER RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

5.  Remove front under cover No.1 and No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)(See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Remove the following parts as a single unit. (See AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

•  Air hose

•  Air cleaner cover

•  Air cleaner element

•  Air cleaner case

•  Fresh-air duct

7.  Remove or disconnect the following parts.

•  Bolts

•  Clips

•  Fasteners

•  Wiring harness clip

•  Connector

8.  Disconnect the clip shown in the figure.

9.  Remove the cooling fan component.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
