Outline

System malfunction location	Without Off-Road Traction Assist •  TCS OFF switch With Off-Road Traction Assist •  Off-Road Traction Assist switch
Detection condition	•  The electronically controlled brake unit detects that the TCS OFF switch (Without Off-Road Traction Assist) / Off-Road Traction Assist switch (With Off-Road Traction Assist) is stuck on (on for continuous 10 s or more).
Fail-safe	Refer to “DTC Table” and “Fail-safe Function Malfunction Contents Table”. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT].)
Possible cause	•  The driver pressed and held the TCS OFF switch (Without Off-Road Traction Assist) / Off-Road Traction Assist switch (With Off-Road Traction Assist) for 10 s or more. •  Short to ground in TCS OFF switch (Without Off-Road Traction Assist) / Off-Road Traction Assist switch (With Off-Road Traction Assist) (cluster switch No.1) LIN communication line •  Cluster switch No.1 malfunction ―  TCS OFF switch malfunction (Without Off-Road Traction Assist) ―  Off-Road Traction Assist switch malfunction (With Off-Road Traction Assist) •  Instrument cluster malfunction •  Body control module (BCM) malfunction •  Electronically controlled brake unit malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	INSPECT BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION •  Perform the DTC inspection for body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) (E)].)
		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT TCS OFF SWITCH (WITHOUT OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST) / OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST SWITCH (WITH OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST) (CLUSTER SWITCH NO.1) LIN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR SHORT TO GROUND •  Inspect the applicable circuit for a short to ground. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.) •  Is the circuit normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
3	INSPECT TCS OFF SWITCH (WITHOUT OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST) / OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST SWITCH (WITH OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST) FOR MALFUNCTION •  Inspect the applicable part. (See TCS OFF SWITCH INSPECTION [WITHOUT OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST].) (See OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST SWITCH INSPECTION [WITH OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST].) •  Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification. (See CLUSTER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
Repair completion verification 1	VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED •  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. •  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) •  Perform the DTC inspection for the electronically controlled brake unit. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1. •  If the malfunction recurs, replace the electronically controlled brake unit, then go to the next step. (See ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L.H.D.].) (See ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [R.H.D.].)
		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED •  Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
