Detection condition
|
• The electronically controlled brake unit detects that the TCS OFF switch (Without Off-Road Traction Assist) / Off-Road Traction Assist switch (With Off-Road Traction Assist) is stuck on (on for continuous 10 s or more).

|
Refer to “DTC Table” and “Fail-safe Function Malfunction Contents Table”. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT].)

Possible cause
|
• The driver pressed and held the TCS OFF switch (Without Off-Road Traction Assist) / Off-Road Traction Assist switch (With Off-Road Traction Assist) for 10 s or more.
• Short to ground in TCS OFF switch (Without Off-Road Traction Assist) / Off-Road Traction Assist switch (With Off-Road Traction Assist) (cluster switch No.1) LIN communication line
• Cluster switch No.1 malfunction
• Instrument cluster malfunction
• Body control module (BCM) malfunction
• Electronically controlled brake unit malfunction

INSPECT BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION
• Perform the DTC inspection for body control module (BCM).
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT TCS OFF SWITCH (WITHOUT OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST) / OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST SWITCH (WITH OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST) (CLUSTER SWITCH NO.1) LIN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Inspect the applicable circuit for a short to ground.
(See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.)
• Is the circuit normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT TCS OFF SWITCH (WITHOUT OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST) / OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST SWITCH (WITH OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST) FOR MALFUNCTION
• Inspect the applicable part.
• Is the part normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

Repair completion verification 1
|
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
• Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Perform the DTC inspection for the electronically controlled brake unit.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes
|
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the electronically controlled brake unit, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.
