INTEGRATED STARTER GENERATOR (ISG) INSPECTION

Caution
•  Because the integrated starter generator (ISG) cannot be disassembled, do not disassemble the inner parts. Do not reuse a disassembled part, a malfunction may occur if a disassembled part is used.

DTC Inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION.)

•  If any DTC related to the integrated starter generator (ISG) is present, repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [INTEGRATED STARTER GENERATOR (ISG)].)
•  If integrated starter generator (ISG) related DTCs are not detected, perform the visual inspection. (See Visual Inspection.)


Visual Inspection

1.  Verify if the ground plate needs to be disconnected and if it does, disconnect it. (See GROUND PLATE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the integrated starter generator (ISG).

3.  Visually inspect the integrated starter generator (ISG) for the following:

•  Integrated starter generator (ISG) damage
•  Integrated starter generator (ISG) connector damage or corrosion
―  If there is any malfunction, replace the integrated starter generator (ISG).
