INTEGRATED STARTER GENERATOR (ISG) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (E)]

1.  Verify if the ground plate needs to be disconnected and if it does, disconnect it. (See GROUND PLATE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Deflector (RH) (See DEFLECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Front splash shield (RH) (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Coolant reserve tank (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].) (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

(4)  Decoupling ring tensioner (See DECOUPLING RING TENSIONER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

(5)  Intake manifold (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)

3.  Disconnect the wiring harness clips and connector.

4.  Remove in the order shown in the figure.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) Installation Note

1.  To facilitate the installation of the integrated starter generator (ISG), push down the spacer shown in the figure to the nut side using pliers.

2.  Insert bolt B into the integrated starter generator (ISG).

3.  Align the integrated starter generator (ISG) bolt installation hole on the engine side with the hole on the integrated starter generator (ISG) side and temporarily tighten bolt A.

4.  Tighten in the order of bolt A and bolt B.
