EGR COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8]

Replacement Part

2WD

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the following parts: (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

•  Fresh-air duct

•  Air cleaner

•  Air hose

•  Air intake pipe

3.  Remove the battery and the battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

4.  Remove the front crossmember. (See FRONT CROSSMEMBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

5.  Disconnect the front drive shaft (RH) from the transaxle side and set is aside so that it does not interfere with the servicing. (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

6.  Remove the catalytic converter (Diesel particulate filter). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

7.  Remove in the order shown in the figure.

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

AWD

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the following parts: (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

•  Fresh-air duct

•  Air cleaner

•  Air hose

•  Air intake pipe

3.  Remove the battery and the battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

4.  Disconnect the EGR temperature sensor connector. (European (L.H.D. U.K.) specs.) (See EGR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

5.  Disconnect the exhaust gas temperature sensor No.4. (European (L.H.D. U.K.) specs.) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

6.  Set the wiring harness bracket shown in the figure aside so that it does not interfere with the servicing. (European (L.H.D. U.K.) specs.)

7.  Remove the LP-EGR control valve. (See LP-EGR CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

8.  Remove the front crossmember. (See FRONT CROSSMEMBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

9.  Remove the front drive shaft (RH). (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

10.  Remove the catalytic converter (Diesel particulate filter). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.8].)

11.  Remove in the order shown in the figure.

12.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
