Special service tool (SST)

49 JP06 003   Cylinder pressure sensor wrench

Replacement part

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

3.  Remove the rear wall. (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

4.  Remove the protector. (See SEAL COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

5.  Remove in the order shown in the figure.

6.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Cylinder Pressure Sensor Removal Note

Note

•  When removing the cylinder pressure sensor, remove the fuel injector connector to avoid interference of the SST with the wiring harness and the connector.

1.  Disconnect the fuel injector connector of the cylinder from which the cylinder pressure sensor is to be removed. (See FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

2.  Remove the cylinder pressure sensor using the SST.

Washer Removal Note

Caution

•  Do not use a metal scrapper when removing the washer. Otherwise, the sensor may be scratched and the cylinder pressure sensor may be damaged.

1.  If the washer cannot be removed by hand, remove the washer using a hard-plastic scrapper.

Washer Installation Note

Caution

•  Install the cylinder pressure sensor to the engine immediately after installing the washer to the cylinder pressure sensor to avoid the washer from dropping and being lost.

1.  Install the washer applied with water to the cylinder pressure sensor.
