Caution
•  Because the clutch in the automatic transaxle may be damaged, always replace the automatic transaxle even if a pending code (does not recur) has been detected.

Automatic transaxle internal malfunction
Detection condition
•  Malfunction location cannot be determined based on combination of gear ratio malfunction and oil pressure switch pattern malfunction.
Fail-safe
•  Inhibits learning control.
•  Inhibits manual mode.
•  Inhibits neutral idle control.
•  Inhibits i-stop control.
•  Inhibits AAS.
Possible cause
•  ATF is less than specified value
•  Automatic transaxle internal malfunction

VERIFY DTC OUTPUT STATUS
•  Are any the following DTCs displayed?
―  P0729:00, P0731:00, P0732:00, P0733:00, P0734:00, P0735:00, P0736:00
Yes
Replace the automatic transaxle.

Go to the next step.

INSPECT ATF LEVEL
•  Inspect the ATF level.
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Adjust the ATF level to the specification, then go to the next step.

No
Go to Step 5.

PERFORM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO SPECIFY MALFUNCTIONING PART
•  Perform the on-board diagnostic test.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
DTC P1738:00 is displayed:
•  Replace the automatic transaxle.
DTC other than P1738:00 is displayed:
•  Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

DRIVE VEHICLE AND VERIFY DTCs
•  Drive the vehicle for 5 min or more.
•  Stop the engine.
•  Drive the vehicle for 5 min or more after the engine restarts.
•  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
DTC P1738:00 is displayed:
•  Replace the automatic transaxle.
DTC other than P1738:00 is displayed:
•  Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
No DTCs are displayed:
•  DTC troubleshooting completed.

PERFORM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO SPECIFY MALFUNCTIONING PART
•  Perform the on-board diagnostic test.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
DTC P1738:00 is displayed:
•  Replace the automatic transaxle.
DTC other than P1738:00 is displayed:
•  Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

DRIVE VEHICLE AND VERIFY DTCs
•  Drive the vehicle for 5 min or more.
•  Stop the engine.
•  Drive the vehicle for 5 min or more after the engine restarts.
•  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
DTC P1738:00 is displayed:
•  Replace the automatic transaxle.
DTC other than P1738:00 is displayed:
•  Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Replace the control valve body.
