DOWN SWITCH INSPECTION [ET6A-EL, ET6AX-EL]

Continuity Inspection

Note
•  The down switch is built into the selector lever component.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.(See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)].)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Selector lever knob (See SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Cup holder (See CUP HOLDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Rear console(See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)
(8)  Rear console bracket No.1(See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

3.  Disconnect the selector lever component connector.

4.  Verify that the continuity between selector lever component terminals D and H.

•  If not as verified, replace the selector lever component. (See SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Down switch specification

Test condition

Continuity
Selector lever is in the M position (−) side position.
Continuity
Selector lever is not in the M position (−) side position.
No continuity
