ACTIVE AIR SHUTTER INSPECTION

id092300000600

Note
•  The integrity of the active air shutter cannot be determined from a single part. When inspecting the active air shutter, perform the following procedure.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.  Display the PCM PID [AIRSHUT_POS_ACT] and the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.) (See SIMULATION INSPECTION.) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G (E))].) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-D)].) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].) (See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G (E))].) (See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-D)].) (See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].)

4.  Verify that the PID [AIRSHUT_POS_ACT] value changes according to the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] value when the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] is driven from 0 degrees to the maximum value.

•  If it cannot be verified, replace the active air shutter. (See ACTIVE AIR SHUTTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
