CONDENSER INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0]

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(E)])

2.  Discharge the refrigerant.(See REFRIGERANT CHARGING [(E)].)

3.  Remove the front under cover No.1 and the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Drain the engine coolant and water-cooled charge air cooler coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].) (See WATER-COOLED CHARGE AIR COOLER COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

5.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Engine cover (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
(2)  Air cleaner, air hose and fresh air duct component (See AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
(3)  Coolant reserve tank (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
(4)  Cooling fan component (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)
(5)  Radiator (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

6.  Remove the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

7.  Inspect the condenser for cracks, damage, and oil leakage.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-X 2.0].)

8.  Visually inspect for bent fins for restriction or foreign matter.

•  If any fins are restricted, remove the foreign matter.

9.  Visually inspect for bent fins.

•  If any fins are bent, use the end of a flathead screwdriver to straighten fins.
